The Smart Drawer: Recycling made easy.

The Smart drawer would be built directly into your kitchen:  A streamlined recycling system that could provide a convenient, easy, and rewarding way to recycle at home.

Our concept is a Smart Drawer, a  simple recycling system that offers ease of access and a practical solution. In our concept we have also added a financial incentive of a point to value app to encourage users to view recyclable waste

as a financial asset. We thought about our user demographics and wanted to make the drawer easy to use for people with disabilities and children, the drawer is set low in a counter and is easy to open. The tech interface is simple and uses audio, iconology clear text for non-readers and readers alike. We believe that when presented with this solution to a common problem, the rates of  recycling overall would go up and thus help the environment and individuals alike.

The Conversation Starter

A wearable device for improving social interactions

We are a full year and a half into a global pandemic that has limited much of our social and familial support systems, we are a species that thrives on interaction and human connection. Behind our mask and between our mandated physical distance many people are suffering from anxiety and loneliness and the desire to physically talk with other people in person, away from the screen.
